Ladies Quadrangular Squash Tournament 2023

The Ladies Quadrangular Squash Tournament 2023, held at the Edgbaston Priory Club, ended in a thrilling draw between the Police and UK Armed Forces teams. Both teams showcased exceptional skill and determination, resulting in a shared event with a final score of 2-2.

In the first match, Elin Harlow from the Police team defeated Rosie Hamilton of the UK Armed Forces with a score of 11/3, 11/4, and 11/4, securing a 3-0 victory. Harlow’s performance was impressive, demonstrating her agility and precision on the court.

The second match saw Ashleigh Hunter from the Police team continue the winning streak by beating Jen Hitch from the UK Armed Forces with a score of 11/8, 11/3, and 11/8, resulting in another 3-0 win for the Police team. While Jen put up a good fight, it was not quite enough to take a game from her opponent.

The third match was a walkover due to no match being played, giving the UK Armed Forces a much-needed point and bringing the overall score to 2-1.

In the fourth and final match, Lucy Lamb from the UK Armed Forces emerged victorious against Sara Laker from the Police team, winning 11/4, 11/4, and 11/3, and securing a solid 3-0 victory for her team. This levelled the overall score at 2-2, resulting in a shared event between the Police and UK Armed Forces teams.

This year’s tournament showcased the talent and competitive spirit of both the Police and UK Armed Forces teams. With such a closely fought contest, both teams are looking forward to defending the title at next year’s event.
